Alright so I’m going to put this out there because I feel like I’ve been scammed honestly.
More than two months ago (Nearly 3) I commissioned Yuuki Bookmite (SL name not sure of fb name) to do a photo edit for me. At the time she had a long list of people in front of me, but the DAY I contacted her she messaged me and within a few moments I was getting my picture taken. She asked for the money upfront as ” that’s her policy”.
She then told me to keep checking the status of the picture in her profile ( https://gyazo.com/05cbf9e1b74277d9afa38aee347a593e )
I was last on her list that the time, the gyazo above shows the list as it is now, but then I was about 14th or so on her list. I kept watching, I paid for the picture, I was excited, I’d seen this girls work and fell in love. Slowly she chipped away at that list until It said I was number 1 on her list. That was more than a MONTH ago.
I contacted her a month ago for a more personal status as it had already been a month and a half since I’d heard from her. She told me to wait, that it was coming. I’m normally a patient person so I said okay and went about my business.
Since then I have tried contacting her twice more in which she never responds. I’ve sent her messages and a NC. I have finally just said fuck it, because it’s been nearly 3 months now that I have not gotten my picture. My avi has changed multiple times since then and even if she DID get it back to me it wouldnt look like me anymore. So I told her I wanted a refund of the money that I paid her and I’ve still not heard a word from her. I’m sure the other people on her list that she’s taken money from hasnt gotten their edits back either.
Moral of the story… Dont trust people. I know WHY people ask to be paid in advance, but this is so unprofessional that it’s ridiculous. She should really be ashamed of herself. And if I can stop one person from contacting her about an Edit then I think this post did it’s job.

UPDATE~ This situation was rectified and the post was taken down on Facebook then. Yuuki finally contacted me back and refunded my money. I didnt know about this post here until tonight, which is why I didnt post an update before.

She’s been an employee of mine before and I know for a fact that she is typically busy with real life. I doubt it’s her trying to be vindictive. She’s a very sweet girl.

Props for trying to defend your employee. However I do editing for a living and I can say that any work like this should not take a person 3 months to deliver a picture to a client. Even if there are 14 people in the que before this one, that’s still a lot of days and many hours to work on them, and communicate with the clients about the status of their order.
Even if we discount the other peoples and time to get to her picture, a whole month and there was zero time to contact the client or finish the picture? I really have a hard time believing that. If we limit it to a month, or just 28 days (4 weeks/1 month), and take out full sleep cycles, work, and a few other things that have to be done like eat and travel, there is still more than 150 hours in a month to work on the ‘next’ picture.
It’s very irresponsible, and really tarnishes everyone else who does it in SL and to some extent the perception of RL photographers/editors.

Thats because she’s on high school and busy. Why don’t people take pictures of their own avatars. Just soup them up with photo shop

people charge crazy money for photos now. some are charging 7,000L$ for one photo. Its stupid.

Only Skip charges that much, and he isnt even the best artist on flickr, way over rated, but he put in years serial licking in flickr, and the “ladies” keep on flocking to throw money at him

I know a load who charge that and more. Ooook Keon. we all get that you hate skippy but you dont need to drop his name into every trash site thread nothing the fuck to do with him in the first place, just so you get the heat of your own back.

If you are looking for someone to do a picture, just look for a style you like. I would never pay more than 5,000$L for a picture and that would have to come from someone who is way beyond talented. You can get amazing work done for 2,500$L or less if you look for someone who wants to do it for fun but still values their time.
